please god help me
· This is the happiest I've been as a lifelong Wizards/Bullets fan -- they're in the playoffs with a 50/50 shot at getting to the 2nd round and it seems Kwame Brown is done playing with my emotions. The Wiz suspended KB for the postseason, saying he's no longer welcome with the team before leaving him in DC as they flew to Chicago for Game 5. This after a Game 3 in which KB played 4 minutes and a game 4 in which he said he had a stomach flu (Wilbon calls him a quitter). This after four seasons of 7 points and 5 boards per game. This after MJ made him the first high schooler ever taken first overall.
Now he's a restricted free agent and likely never to be a Wizard again. As a Wiz fan, the fear comes with knowing Jermaine O'Neal only put up 4 and 1 in his four seasons in Portland before going to Indiana and putting up 19 and 10 over the last five. They both have million dollar bodies. The difference is Kwame has a five cent head. Good riddance, KB.
Moving on...
· I didn't care about John Rocker playing in NY until I saw this photo of him and his flaming mullet!!! Plus, he swore at a fan yesterday.

· SI's Richard Deitsch staffs "the NFL coverage for NBC's Sunday Night Football and ESPN's Monday Night Football come 2006." Highlights include Costas hosting NBC's pregame show, Madden and Marv Albert in NBC's booth, Lewis Black or Chris Rock on ESPN's pregame show and Brett Favre joining Al Michaels and Paul Maguire in ESPN's MNF booth. My suggestion: keep Maguire away from my MNF.
· Kellen Winslow Jr. may have violated his contract by riding a motorcycle, flying over the handlebar and sustaining internal injuries. Hear us discuss on the latest SportsBloggersLive with disgruntled Cleveland fan CT.
KW2's Motorbike
· Shelden Williams is staying and Kevin Pittsnogle is going. According to NBADraft.net, Shelden will go 10th in 2006 and Pittsnogle will not go. Help Saved by the Blog decide which one is uglier.
· This NY Times article is 12 pages off the printer, but Michael Lewis (Moneyball author) does a great job sifting through fact and fiction as a 5'7" guy and 6'3" guy take different routes to the Big Leagues.
· Mark Cuban gives a tip of the pen to an erroneous sports writer and his able-minded editor. We're hoping to have him on SBL soon, but I guess he's busy with the playoffs and all.
· High Above Courtside lists reasons why Flutie signing with the Pats is a good thing, including "Adam V has someone on the team old enough to be impressed that he brought down Herschel Walker solo on a kickoff return."
· 'TheAmazingly Sucky Juan Dixon' message board thread on RealGM inspired Juan Dixon to score 35 against Chicago in Game 4. Hear it here.
· Quick Slants says the Yanks are making the right moves but fears rookie Robinson Cano (their new starting 2B) is only being played as trade bait. All I know is that his rookie cards are probably way overvalued right now.*
· Sportz Assassin says Phil Jackson ends up in LA around Draft time. We got into this at quite some length with ESPN's Scoop Jackson on SBL.
· Bonus: Mrs. Irrelevant emails this week's Bachelor loser's verbatim crying-in-the-limo kiss-off and it's freaking hilarious. Ladies and gentleman...
