Evolution of a Faux Cowboy

As a rule, I seldom post photos of myself.
Then I suddenly remembered that Marcel Proust once said "Exceptions to the rule are the magic of existence."

I enjoy breaking rules now & then, even if the prospect of magic is less than a remote possibility........

I generally hate being photographed and always get painful spasms of embarrassment at seeing pictures of myself.
Tonight, I've decided to break some rules just for the heck of it. Blame it on my disinclination to write a real blog entry, and on AOL's recent decision to make posting pictures on blogs easy (after years of agony).

Once upon a time I was a sappy, sweet, & sinless little faux cowboy.

I had a pathetically squeeky-clean image and the cleanest little gun in the west.

Later, I transformed into a quasi-Clark Kent high school nerd.

My Hollywood Midnight Cowboy Hippie Bangladesh Period.
I should have been shot for wearing that shirt. Not to mention the hat.

My Organic Ozark Period.
I swear to God that was my real hair.

Untold years of ceaseless carousing & hard living turned me into one tough & scary hombre.

Today, I'm weary & saddlesore & inclined to be in a benign horizontal position

All right, go ahead and laugh.........

You've aged well, Jon. I also wonder who on earth took those last couple of pics. Hmmm? Perhaps another journal entry for us nosey neighbours. Ha! Have to agree with Indigo about your Hollywood Midnight Cowboy Hippie Bangladesh Period. The hat may look Billy Jackish, but the rest of you sure looked like Robert Redford in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid Period. Well, sans the shirt. Enough said about Robert Redford - I'm going to bed, and will think "happy thoughts".
    Always, Rose~*

    uh ... uh ....

not so speechless as I thought.  Dare I say handsome?  At some point in life?  And that I believe handsome is better with age?

Laugh? No way. I'm just trying to figure out how you can recline under a piano.

Loved this post. Interesting how your look changed with the times. I myself detest cameras ( I think a majority of it has to do with a lifetime of displaying bruises of one variety or another). I this your a very handsome man. Kind of remind me of Robert Redford with those sunglasses or are they tinted eye glasses? Learn something new about you each time you post. (Hugs) Indigo
