So I Lit This Candle....

Oops!

.....while paying my bills on the phone this afternoon.

I had just given the phone company the confirmation number and was shuffling through the bills while reaching for a pen.

Funny thing is...I had the papers too close to the candle.  Suddenly, I feel this rush of hot air and glance over and lo and behold, all my bills are on fire.

So I grab the papers and throw them out in the backyard.  Thankfully, the sliding glass door was already open (it's gorgeous here today) and my backyard is desert, literally.

Good thing...phone bill got paid.  Bad thing, the fire melted my debit card and burned the power bill to nothing.

Wayne's kinda mad.

Maybe this will inspire Wayne to take over this little chore. Either that or have the local fire department on standby once a month. I've love to be the customer service rep at the power company on the other end of the line when you tell them your bill experienced a power surge and burst into flames.
