Feeling Loopy

I feel cheeky

Picture from Hometown

I'm feeling much better today, probably because i have a doc appt tomorrow and now i will show up to it not sick. And i'm so hungry too, so i know i'm feeling better. All i can think about is what else can i eat? and right now i'm trying so hard not to open the chips ahoy cookies that are calling my name because i just had 2 candy bars. I hope i have the energy to ignore them the rest of the night, those stubborn cookies just won't give up until i give in.

I mentioned to my husband the other day i wanted to rip out the wallpaper in our downstairs bathroom and paint. The wallpaper must be 30yrs old and its just so depressing to look at and makes the room feel so small. My husband took it upon himself to do this task, so he's been ripping this wallpaper and today had our neighbor over to help remove the toilet so the wallpaper behind there could come off. So now the toilet is back on and the room is almost done being painted and wow what a difference! And i get to just sit back and smile because i didn't have to do a single thing, for once!

On a different note, i have nicknames for all my kids. Of course when i'm upset or need to get their attention i use their given name. My oldest son is named after my husband and in some situations this has caused confusion on who i was speaking to. No confusion the other day when i spoke to him and i was told i could no longer call him that because i didn't name him, his daddy did, so only daddy could call him that. After i recovered from surprise, i calmly explained to him that i was the one who gave birth to him, i picked out his name and i signed the papers. Because of that i'll call him whatever i want to and i'll change it whenever i feel like it. Don't mess with mom! It just cracks me up, he was so serious about it, and i just can't help but laugh now. I can't believe thurs he's going to be 8 already, it seems like just yesterday he weighed only 6lbs and fit in the crook of my arm. Where do the days go?

I gotta go clean the kitchen and do some laundry before bed, tomorrow i promise i will read journals i haven't much the past few days now that i'm feeling better i will.

Nice to meet you, I'm Michele. I found your journal through babyshark28 and I'm enjoying. Kids are so funny. When my daughter Candace was two, after I picked her up from daycare one eve. she informed me her name was not Candace, as I pronounced it, but it was Cackie, and she would get upset with me every time I called her Candace. (I guess the kids were calling her Candy.) We called her Cackie thereafter till she was in 6th grade. She's a junior in highschool now - goes by Candace. : )
