Feeling Loopy
Wanna pull up a chair?
I was all set to write about the botched job on my hair yesterday, but in lieu of my daughter, i've decided to save that one for another time. I will get to it so you can laugh at me, don't worry. Anyway sit back, i hope you don't mind the story today.
I never was sick or had much of anything interesting happen to me as i was growing up. Didn't get chicken pox until i was 19, and it was terrible but my husband-to-be took wonderful care of me and learned then what a true witch i could be, lol. I also happened to be pregnant with my first son at the time, but everything turned out well. When my son got the chicken pox 2yrs later, ironically i was pregnant with his brother this time.
My kids have always come down with some pretty strange things, strange that no one in my family has ever gotten them or sometimes even heard of them. When my oldest son was a baby he got fifth disease, dear lord i thought my heart would beat out of my chest! It sounded so much worse than the fever, small rash and red cheeks he had. Why can't they think of names for these childhood illnesses that don't put your heart into your throat and make it feel like your going to pass out?
When my younger son was 3 he came down with hand, mouth, foot disease. WTF? Highly contagious, his only symptoms were his poor hands all red and peeling, itching so bad i thought he'd just rip the skin off and he'd be crying for hours. Two weeks the worst of it lasted and thank goodness it didn't spread to his mouth and feet as the doc predicted it would.
As for my little girl, she's had a mite of a cold and now she has conjuctivitis, or pink eye, in both eyes. Another first for the family, and a real fun one at that. My poor baby they are giving her an antibiotic eye drop to be given 3 times daily. Now how do you give a three yr old an eye drop? I'll find out soon and i can already feel my heart squeezing at the very idea of it. We've been doing warm compresses since last night and that has helped so much, the itching doesn't seem to bother so much and her eyes aren't so red anymore. Please say a prayer for us with the eye drops, i know it's going to be rough.
