Every time we take a vehicle on a road trip we calculate mileage and keep track of our expenses like gas.

Regular.
3. If you had to give up one or the other because of a government-mandated fuel-saving law, would you prefer to go without your car’s air conditioning or automatic transmission?
I prefer to do without air conditioning all together unless it is so hot, that even open windows don't help.

When we first got married we had a Dodge Road Runner. I think it might have gotten 2 miles per gallon on a good day. I remember using a quarter of a tank between our house and relatives only a few miles away.
