So my dear friend, Marti of Porch Stories, asked me about how Jon is doing. We've talked to him nearly every night since he left, and bascially, he's really homesick. He's never quite sure how he's doing, and in typical Jon fashion, he's convinced he's failing. "I don't know if this is what I want to do anyway," he told Bill. Then today, we talked to him. He scored 96 on a hazmat test, and he finally met some guys. One he says likes to play baseball as much as he does, and will play catch in the evening. Two others, he said, come from Southern Illinois They have half a day off today and were thinking about playing pool. Needless to say, with company and a 96 under his belt, he's in a better mood. I think he was sure he wouldn't survive last week. He lost two roommates. The very first fell to the stress test at the beginning of the week. If he survives this week, and I'm sure most of the cuts have been made, he'll move onto do a week on the road. After that he moves to his new company and will spend a week training with them. So far so good. So thank you to everyone for your prayers.
