Hearing Everybody Wants to Rule the World -- Tears for Fears
Caveats and Notices
I'm here to answer your questions about AOL Journals and to generally be helpful. However, there are a few questions and requests where I'm likely to be not of much use. They include:
* Questions about AOL Web pages other than AOL Journals: I don't have much experience with Hometown pages, Easy Designer, 1-2-3 Publish or other tools used to make AOL Web pages, so asking me questions about them is likely to result in me sheepishly admitting I can't help you. My focus is on the AOL Journal pages and questions about them. My apologies in advance to everyone else.
* Questions on how to become a professional writer/helping you with your novel or book or story/using my connections to get you writing work: Nearly all the advice I have for aspiring writers can be found here. I can't help you write your novel or book or story because between doing this and writing my own books and novels, I hardly have time to breathe, and it wouldn't be fair to you. Really. Likewise, as much as I wish I had time to read stories other than those on Journals, I really can't. I can't use my connections to get you writing work because I barely can use my connections to get me writing work.
* An important story/issue/thing you want me to help you publicize to the world: In all cases my advice to you will be to make an AOL Journal and use it to publicize your issue -- and send me a link! I regularly feature Journals in my own Journals to keep people aware of what's going on in our community. However, aside from that, I can't be of much help getting the word out to newspapers or publishers or others.
* Really personal details: All the personal details I'm going to divulge, I'm pretty much going to put in my Journal. But thanks for the interest.
* Requests for money: Uh, no. Sorry. Baby needs a college education.

I still can't figure out how to use the linking to a page.
I just copy & paste.
I have also tried to get my description of my Journal under my title. That still doesn't work. I even chatted with LIVE HELP. They said they would report the problem & try back in 24 hrs. That was Friday...still no description...; (
AOL Journal needs to cater to MAC systems.
When I add an entry, I do not have options(tool bar) in text. Seems like AOL does not like MACs...; (
Just needed to vent~

I AM CRUSHED
Simply Crushed
So the wordiness is probably due to the emotion of the moment, and its energy prompting me to start my first blog. AAAWWWWW.... I am concerned that the "All About Me" section is limited to 1000 characters as tha dialog box informs me ea time I attempt to save the text.
Is This True...only 1000 characters...in a section headed "All About Me"? What to do, what to do!?
All that yet this comment allows twice that : (. -
I have been writing a "journal" on AOL since January, 1997 and it's all online thanks to my studying html online and thanks to AOL ftp. My question is: Is there an easy way for me to convert everything over to the AOL journal section.

I've been having a bit of a problem ever since this whole J-land explosion this week. I write my journal entry on Word before I post it on the journal. That way I can save a copy in case something bad happens. When I post, something weird happens. All my apostrophes, quotation marks and dashes are replaced by those weird "a"s Karen used to use for Mavarin. When I try to edit them out, they keep reappearing. I have to edit about seven times for all of them to disappear.
What can I do? I don't want to post directly to the journal (I've had the journal eat my work before). HELP!!
