Hearing Let's Go Out Tonight -- The Blue Nile

Raised Eyebrows or Lack Thereof

The California Candidates are beginning to roll out their proposals for fixing the state's problems, and CalPundit doesn't like what he sees coming out of Democrat Cruz Bustamante or Republican Peter Ueberroth: "Neither one came up with a plan that even passes the laugh test," he comments, adding this rather nasty kicker:

"And you want to hear what's even more pathetic? The best and most realistic budget plan I've heard so far was Gray Davis' very first budget proposal back in December of last year. And he's getting recalled."

Related to this, Schwarzenegger had his first policy-oriented press conference and released his first TV ad (you'll probably want broadband for that link), both of which were pretty light on specifics. But the ad is (of course) slick and filled with warm, buttery phrases and An American President-like background music. However, two notes: Schwarzenegger nods too much (it's like he's trying to get you to agree with him by nodding for you) and his eyebrows are disturbingly immobile, maintaining a level plane for a full sixty seconds. I don't think that will be a deal-breaker for most voters, however.

Go watch the commerical and let me know your thoughts on Schwarzenegger's performance -- and his eyebrows. Comment below or send links to JMSJournal (AOL) or JMSJournal2@aol.com (for non-AOLers).

I am SOOOOOOOoooo glad that I don't live in California.

Good grief, it is like a bad Hollywood B movie!
