Plush Life

Picture from Hometown

In the wake of yesterday's Da Boyz! entry, in which I displayed my Darwin, Socrates and Einstein plush toys (the latter two shown here with my daughter Athena), I've gotten some links to other people's favorite unusual plush toys. Two of these links really stand out. The first is to Giant Microbes, which feature plush versions of everyone's favorite infections like flu, strep throat, athlete's foot and more. These are disturbingly cute: Look at the common cold and tell me you don't want to just snuggle up to this cuddly rhinovirus.

The second is an old favorite of the Web: The Plush Cthulhu, the adorable daemon sprung straight from HP Lovecraft's horrifying tales. This adorable avatar of evil is famously featured in the Web classic Tales of the Plush Cthulhu, in which our friend Cthulhu injects fear and madness into a room of stuffed animals. View if you dare!

Got more plush stuff you want to share? I'm waiting.
