Hearing Fall -- Falling Joys

About that plus sign thing

So, some of you who tried to put in entries this morning noticed that all the spaces between your words were replaced with "+" signs. And you may wonder, what the heck is that about? I have four excuses here, one of which is actually true:

1. AOL got a real sweet deal on plus signs at ASCII Mart ("Serving all your ASCII Needs").

2. AOL Journal servers meet can of Fresca. Hilarity ensues.

3. Someone at AOL forgot to make the weekly intern sacrifice to the Jealous Computer Gods.

4. The folks at AOL Journals installed a fix that, well, wasn't. That fix has since been fixed.

The real answer is number 4 (I mean, as if you couldn't guess). Although personally, I think the Jealous Computer Gods were involved in some capacity. The good news is that it's over now, and years from now we'll all look back and laugh and ask each other where we were that day the plus signs attacked AOL Journals.

More seriously, of course, we know these tech glitches are annoying. We are trying to keep them to a bare minimum while making the improvements that will make AOL Journals a better experience. And we're willing to sacrifice as many interns as required to make that happen.

In other news, our intern program has two new openings!

Um. Make that three.

AOL creates these great places like the Journals and then gives us non understandable instructions to create them.
On the Jounal I can't even get a hyper link to work.
The help section is not helpful at all.
I see most of the Journals are not even being worked on and so many that seem to have given up making them,

Im not agaisnt AOL, but they need to create a much better and simple help section for us that are not high tech such as yourself on how AOL works.

    Thanks,
    J
