Hearing Calling by Stormlight -- Robert Rich

A Fun Journal

I'm going to be getting into the habit of calling attention to interesting AOL Journals when I come across them, and I've come across one I find interesting: Day in the Life of Shelli P.

What makes it interesting? Well, for one thing, Shelli is an enthusiastic story teller, and she focuses on offbeat things that mark a good eye for observational detail (I particularly like her bit about how all the food at the Minnesota State Fair appears to be on a stick). I think it's a pretty good example of how even day-to-day life can be made fun and interesting to read, if you have a certain spin that helps catch the light of the story in a different way.

I do wish she'd use apostrophes when she used contractions, but aside from that copy-editing quibble I think she's on her way. If you're looking yourself to see how to write about the events in your every day life, take a gander. This is how one AOLer is doing it.

Thank you John! That means a ton to me especially coming from someone that writes so well! I will certainly try (emphasis on try) to use more apostrophes! (Those little buggers have a way of slipping my mind)
Look forward to reading more from you!!
