Hearing Nothing -- I'm depressurizing a bit

A Small Prayer

Dear God:

Are you there? It's me, John. I don't ask for much, but I was sort of hoping you could tell me that this particular news story is a hoax. Because if it is true, then it's confirmed that we've all lost our sense of perspective and need to be swallowed up by lava right this very instant. So please, let it not be true. Also, I would like a pony.

Your friend,

John

I am a child of God's, here to tell you with complete certitude and conviction that God is here; he is also there. He is inside you (and me, too, and everyone). When you read in the Bible "God loved us so much that he sent HIS ONLY begotten SON", please remember that the Bible is translated from the Aremaic, the language spoken by Jesus and all the people there. In Aremeic HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON can also be translated as HIS FIRST BORN SON. Jesus was his first born child. We came after him. Jesus said "anything I do, you, too, can do it, and even better".  - - - All I said here is true and can be proven. If you want a pony with all your might and desire, you will get a pony.
One more comment: God gave us the freedom to choose, free will. All these horrendous tragedies you refer to here are brought on by our free will. When good is prayed to by many with true might and desire, that's mostly when good will happen. The same method works for bad; it, too, will happen. THOUGHTS ARE THINGS. Be careful what you think, be careful what you say.    Lori   "Hm!Hm!Hm!And then there is this!"

To answer the question: Yes, it is a takeoff on "Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret," from Judy Blume. Is that book still read by kids? I honestly have no idea.
