Hearing Lodestar -- Sarah Harmer. I'm listening to the entire album.

A couple of AOL Journal-related things here. First, yesterday afternoon I had something that's probably best described as a localized access interruption, which shut down my accounts until this morning. Well, we've sacrificed yet another AOL intern to the Jealous Computer Gods What Demand Sacrifice, and clearly that's done the trick, because here I am again. BUT it means that if you tried to send me mail yesterday, you may not have been able to send it, or if you did send it, it may not have arrived. So please feel free to send it along again.
Second, this entry had some of you asking when AOL is going to include a "spell check" feature for AOL Journals, since the "Add an Entry" page doesn't include one natively. Answer: Don't know, but I do know the tech folks are aware it's a frequent user request, not in the least because I want it personally since I'm an awful speller (Deep dark secret: Many professional writers are. Spell checkers make us all look 10 IQ points smarter than we are), and would appreciate the help. So it's on the "to do" list.
In the meantime, here's what to do. Write your entry, then use your mouse to highlight everything you've written. Then use your keyboard commands to copy (NOT cut) and then paste your text into either an AOL e-mail form or AOL's text editor, both of which have spell checkers. Run the spell checker. If you have no changes, just save the text to AOL Journals. If there are changes, cut and copy back into the AOL Journal "Add an Entry" and then save the text to your Journal. It's a couple of extra steps, but you'll also root out spelling errors. Your English teacher would be so proud.
