Hearing Beautiful Girl -- Last Week

Mmmm...Rising Stars

Picture from Hometown

A little birdie told me that members of the band Last Week have started an AOL Journal, and that it might be found here. Last Week is the band who won AOL's First Break (AOL-only link) for new groups. That win was based in part on their spiky pop tune "Beautiful Girl," an edited version of which is available through the previous link (as well as links to the band's "Sessions@AOL" performances). If you're not on AOL, you can get the unedited version of the song here.

How's the song? Well, I like it -- it's got a nice beat and you can jump up and down to it, which is what I want from my power pop songs. The Journal is just starting out, so there's not too much there at the moment, but you can encourage the guys to tell you all about the details of trying to make it big in today's music industry. That way when they get big, you can go to them at an in-store signing and say you've been following their AOL Journal from the very beginning. Musicians love that sort of thing.

This is also serves as a notice to other bands/muscians -- if you've got an AOL Journal, a blog and/or music you want to share with other folks, shoot me over an e-mail with a link. I like giving my readers something new and cool to listen to.
