Now, That's Photography

One of the nice things about being out there on the Web is that old friends and associates occasionally come across me, either by accident or through the good ol' "Web search" thing. One person who recently connected with me is James Warden, who was a photo editor at my college newspaper, The Chicago Maroon, when I was the editor-in-chief. Just as I've kept on writing (hi there!), he kept on taking pictures. He sent me a link to his work, which I'm sharing with you now.
Back in our college days James showed a real flair for capturing the workday nature of Chicago, which is the quintessential American city, and you can see in the pictures that he's kept his eye for the Chicago people live in, as opposed the Chicago you see in the movies. He's also good with the kids, as you can see from the picture above, which just absolutely cracks me up every time I see it.
Staying in touch with people, of course, is always the best thing. But I think there's something said about reconnecting again, after a long span of time, and getting a big ol' hit of someone's life all in one sitting, which is what I got from these pictures. Now, clearly you won't have the same experience with these pictures as I'm having, but the photos are evocative by any measure. Enjoy them.
