Hearing Only the Young -- Journey
No Roy No Moore
Roy Moore got booted from his position as Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court because he refused a court order to move that Ten Commandments monument of his. Moore wants to make this an issue of religious persecution, but -- no offense to Moore here -- not everyone who disagrees with his position can be conveniently labeled a godless heathen. This would include Alamaba's governor and attorney general, who consider themselves conservative Christians. It's more to the point that one can't very well be the Chief Justice of a state if one's perfectly willing to ignore the rule of law when it's convenient to one's personal point of view. It sends, shall we say, conflicting signals to the populace.
Many people suspect that Moore will now use this expulsion for his own personal and political gain -- by raking in the bucks on the conservative Christian lecture circuit or by bootstrapping his way into Alabama's governorship on the back of the Ten Commandments. Well, maybe so. If people want to hear him or vote for him to run their state based solely on his policy of exhibiting the Ten Commandments, I don't see why they shouldn't. It's a free country, after all. That's all for another day, anyway. Today, he's got some free time on his hands.

This isn't anywhere near the end of it. Roy's already plotting his appeal.

Mr. Moore got fired because he put himself above the law.__I like this comment.

I would bet that he runs for governor or for the Senate. He's used the 10 Commandments for political gain before. He was just another district court judge until he posted them in his courtroom. The noteriety got him elected Supreme Court Chief Justice.
