Hearing Kinsman Redeemer -- Ezra Thomas
A Redeeming Alternative
I was going to say something about Michael Jackson, but I find the whole thing so fetid and so damned depressing that I've decided not to touch it with a ten foot pole.
Instead I offer up this: The song Kinsman Redeemer, from the band Ezra Thomas. As suggested by the title, it has a redemptive quality about it, which today seems to be something I feel like I (and maybe some others) really need. It comes off of the album Weight of Being, which is also otherwise very excellent, and which I recommend to you.
There. Isn't that better than talking about sordidness? I think so, too.

How cool is that? Ezra Thomas contributed a post! I'm going to go out and buy that Weight of Being CD today! :-)

Heh. Your secret is safe with me. Although listening to your music, I'd've guessed Daniel Lanois was more up your alley.

Hey John,
Love the journal, I'll be reading. My webmaster lets me know when there is a spike in activity...He noticed unusual activity from your site.
I really appreciate you posting us. Kinsman is as close to my heart as I ever hope for... it's a gift to know that others are moved.
oh, and...I love Jackson brown! I wake up to "running on empty" every day on a CD alarm...don't tell anyone I listen to boomer tunes...it will ruin my anguished youthful persona.
Ezra Thomas -
Just so everyone out there in Internet Land knows, in my last post I was in no way condoning Michael Jackson's behavior (if he is guilty), only saying that I like John's suggestion to listen to music rather than talking about the sordidness.
