Hearing Nothing. It's 2am. Everyone else is asleep.

Take it to the Limit

I do get a lot of mail and many comments from AOL Journalers telling me that I'm helpful, which I appreciate (I also get a fair amount of people sending me e-mail telling me to change that photo I have up because I look like a hick, which I appreciate not so much). But there are a couple of different topics which I've learned, for various reasons, I'm not much help on. The good news is that they don't typically involve AOL Journals, so for that, baby, I'm still your man. The bad news is that these "questions I can't answer" come up enough that I felt compelled to make an archive entry about them. Thus: Questions I Can't Answer, which now also has a permanent station in my "About Me" sidebar. I invite you to peruse the entry to learn the limits of my knowledge and/or ability to share.

In case you're wondering, most of these questions I can't answer involve AOL Web pages that aren't AOL Journals -- pages put up using AOL Web-page-making tools, which I have very little experience with. So when I get an e-mail that starts off "I'm using AOL's Easy Designer..." I wince and get all twitchified, since I know I'm going to be totally useless, and that just makes me sad. I like being useful. But occasionally it's one of the other topics as well.

Sadly, to some extent there's no way to say "I can't answer that" and not look a bit like a jerk. But, you know. You have to be honest about these things. Also, most questions I can answer, so on balance I think I'm ahead. And at least this way people know in advance which questions I'm going to be useless for, which I think will save everyone some pain. Hope so, anyway.

Add this line to your UnAFAQ:
KW: Webtut > Message Boards & FAQs
Covers everything with AOL's webpage tools and then some.

RSS? Just starting to explore this option as a way to speed up my Journal browsing. Lots of programs out there. Bit lost with that.

    Happy Thanksgiving!
