Hearing The Beatles and the Stones -- House of Love

Your Wacky Product For Thursday

The Wizdog.

Wizdog is a revolutionary new housetraining system that consists of a durable plastic tray and fitted grate. You simply place some newspaper in the tray, put the grate on top, and let your puppy get down to business.

They also claim you'll never have to touch "solid waste" since you can just flip the grate. I have to say given the wide-ranging "solidity" such waste often exhibits, this is probably an optimistic assessment. Also, that grate's going to get grody, fast. Still, anything that helps dogs be more like cats in their evacuation habits is not a bad thing. I don't imagine Kodi would like it very much -- I suspect she'd look at me with those sad eyes of hers, as if to say: Dude, what's point of living in the country if I have to do this inside? -- but if we were not in a rural state of mind it might be useful.

What do you think?

If you live aboard a boat most of the time or intend to, then using a device such as this to designate the SPOT is a handy tool for puppy training purposes.  Otherwise, take them for a walk.  The problem with a few live aboard dogs who are accustomed to walking is they can't seem to bring themselves to break training.  Nasty kidney & bladder complications occur as a result.  Otherwise, looks like a handy tray to set wet boots on when coming in from the snow and mud.

I have heard that some people try to litter box train small dogs, but this is just crazy.  You take the average size dog and well, oh poop, he just needs to go outdoors!

My dog loves it. Her review: "It's made of plastic, which means it's the perfect chew toy, and it probably tastes better than mom's router or those networking cables, anyway! And newspaper inside -- WOOOO-HOOOO!!! something to shred & make into little doggie spitballs after I crack the grate!"
