While my father-in-law housesits the pets and the garden (I imagine he's out mowing the front 40 even as we speak), we're at the beach and enjoying ourselves, as you can see from this here picture of Athena frolicking in the Atlantic waves. It was a lot of fun, although we here's a little advice for you: When jellyfish lay their eggs, they tend to lay a lot of them, and they tend to clump together in the water in a extremely distrubing sort of way. They also get everywhere, which necessitates taking a shower immediately after getting out of the ocean, unless you really want to be covered in quickly drying jellyfish egg goo. And you don't. Really.

While on a camping vacation in Manteo, NC in 1980's, I waded out at dusk in the warm water and proceeded to float around until I heard my sons shouting "jellies". I was surrounded by these irresdescent creatures. Remarkably, I was not stung!

The box jellyfish here in Hawaii are nuts. 10 days after the full moon, they invade our southern shores. It's like clockwork. I actually wrote a receint journal entry about a 911 call I was on about jellyfish.--Scott
