Hearing Flower -- Liz Phair
On the Flip Side

Since I just splotzed for an entire entry about one of the negative things about writing -- i.e., criticism -- allow me to also quickly note one of the upsides of writing. Above you'll see two boxes of books one of my publishers sent me to sign for booksellers and/or fans. Getting to autograph your own book is crazy fun. At least, I think it is. I might think differently if I had to sign thousands at a time, of course. I don't know. Let me get to that level, and I'll let you know.
Point being -- there are small rewards to go with the small slings. Perserverance pays off.

Can I ask you a dumb question? (pun intended)
What's your dumb book about? I want to know it looks interesting.
Blessings. :)

Woo-hoo! I have a good imagination ... so I can imagine all too easily the sounds of those boxes being ripped open and fighting with pesky cardboard tape, the smell of new books, the way your heart lifts at the sight of the books with YOUR NAME on them, the goofy smile spreading across your face ...
