Cold Coming

Picture from Hometown

Today is the first genuinely cold day of the fall season here in my neck of the woods (or more accurately, my neck of the cornfields); they say it might get up to the mid-60s, but I don't believe it. We're supposed to get something like a 5-day Indian Summer (by the way, is that now a politically incorrect expression to use? ) but then fall really sets in. I don't mind that -- fall's my favorite season -- but it's a reminder that summer really is over, and there's not much to do about that.

How's the weather holding up where you are? Is summer still kicking around, or is it well and truly fall?

I'm with marvarin here. I'm part Apache (don't know how much) and it never accured to me that Indian Summer would be politically incorrect. It doesn't bother me any nor does the term Indian. Maybe it's because I'm so little Apache or because I wasn't raised with it in my heritage. My father (who I get it from) refuses to even admit that we are part Apache! Well, that's all for now. BTW: the weather here is gorgeous! The leaves are changing and the air is just crisp enough that a light jacket or long-sleeves are pretty much a requirement. Upstate New York has the best falls of any where I've been. Then again, I've never experienced them anywhere else!

Our weather is still beautiful outside of DC, but it is a little cooler. This Florida girl fears she will soon have to (egads!) break out the socks. I love Fall and missed it so much for the twenty years I spent in Florida. :) judi
