What to Name the Washington Team

Looks like Washington DC is getting a baseball team again:

Major League Baseball will announce Wednesday that Washington will be the new home of the Montreal Expos, The Associated Press has learned.

A city official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Washington has been notified by Major League Baseball of the impending announcement that will return the national pastime to the nation's capital for the first time in 33 years.

There's going to be an official announcement later on today.

Here's what I want to know: Will they call themselves the Washington Senators or not? The team should be called the Senators, because of tradition if nothing else. But the Texas Rangers -- who were the Senators until the movied in the 70s -- own the rights to the name. So it's possible that the Washington team will have to call themselves something else.

So, of course: What would you name the Washington team, if it can't be called the Senators?

Personally, I like The Washington Fatcats.

Anyone else have a suggestion?

The Jets would be good but because it has been taken another name like Jets needs to be used and we, my wife and myself, have come up with The Washington DC 10s.

Washington Eagles - the name recognizes our National bird and the dramatic comeback bald eagles in the Washington area.

My pick is the White Caps.
Fits the Potomac, White House, Capital and what all good guys wear them....

Even better.  Was discussing it with some friends, and how about:

    The Washington Exposés
