The Procrastination Matrix Has You

Humorist Robert Benchley once wrote that a man can do just about anything, provided that it's not the thing he's supposed to be doing at that moment, and the picture above is a testament to that. I was supposed to be down in the basement, exacavating out entire strata of cat litter and other animal detritus, but somehow fiddling around with Photoshop to turn my adorable five-year-old in a Matrix Harpy seemed, oh, I don't know, more relevant to my life. I mean, the cat area is just going to be a stinkin' mess again in a matter of days (that whole thing about cats being clean animals? Lies), but a phosphorescent portrait of my daughter? That's forever, man.

Tell me I'm not alone: Tell me a story of how you procrastinated recently by doing something more fun instead. Leave it in the comments or write it up in your Journal and leave a link. And for God's sake, don't tell my wife. It'll be our little secret.

Do I procrastinate?  Oh let me just count the ways!  I never get as much done in a day as I plan to because, as my husband puts it, "You are in constant pursuit of fun.  And sometimes work just isn't that much fun, now is it?"  I hate to admit it, but he's right. I like fun!  Fun is fun! :-)  It can be a real problem!  Whenever I put things off, it's always in favor of some creative project since I'm not really the couch-potato type.  I LOVE to make funny, campy home movies with my kids.  They're hilarious!  And if I can ever figure out how to put video clips into my journal, I'll post some of them!  Any clues out there as to how to do this???

My latest fun, procrastination-inducing pursuit is our new puppy.  Please check her out at http://journals.aol.com/shedtheshellnow/ShedtheShell/entries/821
And if you have any suggestions on what we should name her, please feel free to drop me a note!  Have a great day, my procrastination compadres! :-)

Awesome photo! I, as many others, am procrastinating as we speak (or rather as I type and you read). I should be doing homework/cleaning my room!

Perfect example is right now....DOUBLE PROCRASTINATION JEOPARDY!!!!  First, I should be working on my term paper for history, which I procrastinated about all semester....and it's due today at noon!!!   BUT NO!!!!  Here I am messing around in J-Land, reading my 77 emails, and commenting about procrastination!!! Go figure!!!!  Procrastination is my middle name, if there's something else to be doing, I'm doin' it!!!!
Gotta get to that paper...well, maybe after I finish my emails....AAAARRRRRRGGGGG!!!  Here I go again, tam
