Tip Requests

So I'm looking back at some of the AOL Journal tips I wrote many moons ago, and I'm realizing some of them need to be updated a bit -- and probably a few more need to be created. So I am to go about doing that soon. However before I do it, let me ask you, the everyday AOL Journaler: What are the topics you feel

a) You could have used tips on when you were just starting out;

b) You still wouldn't mind having some help with even today.

Leave them for me in the comment thread below. Don't worry if you make a suggestion someone else has already made -- that just tells me that particular tip is more in need than some others. After about a week, I'll collect them up and start writing them out, and then we'll get a bunch of AOL Journal tips up to date and ready for new AOL Journalers to peruse when they need some help.

Thanks -- and looking forward to seeing what you'd like to see with tips!

    regarding adding pictures to text, if you have a My Pictures program and Microsoft Works Word Processing program, you can transfer pictures from My Pictures easily by just scanning them in, then minimizing My Pictures, go into WPS, draw up your document, go to Insert on the tool bar, go down to Insert Picture, then From File, and bingo, your picture is is Works Word Pr.  Then you can select it , size it, and add text.

    What would be nice if when aol puts the alert in your mailbox theywould put part of the name of the journal beside it.  That way if there is some journals you like to read first you wouldnt see just aol alerts

    Hi John,

    I can't believe no one has mentioned this yet...

    1.  Journal would be much better if it had a spell check function.

    2.  I would like to be able to "preview and edit" my new entries before they are submitted and an alert goes out to my readers.

    Thanks,
    Scott

    When first starting to journal it would have been more helpful to have more MAC tips. Even now, there isn't enough tips for MAC users and the instructions that are offered are not clear enough or detailed enough to understand. Mainly tips for the MAC on html, pic & graphics and just generally getting started.
    I use a PC for my desktop and have a iBook (MAC) as my laptop, so I am lucky that I can use the FTP space for my graphics.

    Thanks John it's been an enjoyable year reading your daily journal. Great job!

    When I first started out with JLand it would have been great to have some type of help with adding pictures and blinkies and other graphics. I still have the hardest time getting these type of things added to my journal. It would also be nice to have spell check added to the journal. Lastly, we definitely need some more moods added to the list. Thanks John
