Six Years Gone

daughter Athena turned six on Thursday and I asked AOL Journalers to post their memories of being six as the Weekend Assignment this week. Here's what they remember:

Pollysci: "I was in 1st grade and my teacher was Mrs. Brown.  I'd describe her as a Victorian Loretta Lynn."

Mysteriouscozy remembers the day she wore lace loatards to school.

Sharkie412 recalls lookingin on the Christmas gifts, before Christmas.

Pixiedustnme has pictures from when she was six, and pictures today.

HopelessBlondie gets a concussion.

Justcherie remembers her first boyfriend.

Valenceinc: "My fondest memory of being six is the day I met my mentor Garnett."

Shedtheshellnow: "How ironic John was exloring the fascinating physics and captivating world of the centrifuge at the tender age of six, while I was actually tranformed into 'the human projectile centrifuge' at the very same age."

Larimerwrrn: "I knocked out both of my front teeth."

Threwilli broke a leg in four(!) places.

Ondinemonet has a memory that begins with peanuts.

Mavarin assembles quite a few memories from being six.

Msroseko004 went swimming.

Astaryth remembers a particular tablecloth.

Mosie1944 went to the proverbial one-room school.

Miamiga2004 escapes! Sort of.

Ancidkb47: "When I was six, I was a very happy kid."

Also check the original comment thread for more stories and links! And thank you to everyone who shared a wonderful childhood memory.
