Hearing Monday Monday -- The Mamas and the Papas

Radio Rule Number One...

... Never trust anything that comes out of the mouth of a morning DJ:

Thursday morning, the disc jockeys on 104.7 KISS FM [in Arizona], told their listeners that a paper production plant in California had to cease operations because bacteria had contaminated the site.

As a result, the station said, there would be no new shipments of toilet paper into the Valley for several days.

So naturally, there was a run on toilet paper in local stores.

Honestly people. If your morning DJ's voice is audible, then there's an excellent chance that what it's saying is 99 and 44/100% pure nonsense. It's just that simple.

Radio Rule #2: When in doubt, see Rule #1.

Show's how much attention I pay...I live in Phoenix and was blissfully unaware that we'd be paperless.

See this is exactly why I am so addicted to AM Radio...all the best DJ's are on the morning shows.

I recently stole one of our local morning DJ's games for my own blog use (here comes the shameless self promotion).  The idea is to take a subject and answer it humorously using the title of 3 popular songs.  Its called the Daily 3.

For an example check out http://journals.aol.com/st0rmwhispers/SWAOS/

I love morning DJ pranks.  It seems that, although they've been going on forEVER, there are still loads of folks who will fall for them.  I can say, however, that I find it no more unbelievable than the folks in Missouri who run out to "stock up" when we have a forecast for snow.  People!  We have snow plows.  If you're so low on supplies that you can't make it a day or so, you have bigger problems than snow!
