Your Tuesday Phone Call: Is That MY Voice?

Picture from Hometown
audio Play audio entry (2 min 55 sec)

In which I respond to the occasional e-mails about these phone calls which state: "You sound nothing like I thought you would." Believe me, I sympathize.

I thought you would sound like your "radio voice", which you say sounds "idiotic" but I say sounds deep and "worldly".  Actually, I think you're pure Southern Califonia boy, as am I.  In fact, I think we sound a bit alike.  Soon I suppose that midwestern influence will take effect.  Oh, well, sounding like Senator Taft would not be too bad.

I think your voice is great! But before I heard it, the voice I heard in my head while I read was somewhere in the John Stewart family. You know, kind of witty and sarcastic.

Your voice sounds fine to me; however, I'm a native New Yorker, and when I hear myself on my answering machine I cringe!!! So, cheer up, your voice is fine. Your dog is adorable by the way!! What kind is he?
