Hearing The Ghost Has No Home -- Harold Budd and the Cocteau Twins

Zzzzzzzzzz....

This is not news to me: Most Americans Sleep Poorly:

Getting a good night's sleep is hard for many adults and that often means poorer health, lower productivity on the job, more danger on the roads and a less vibrant sex life.

Many experts say adults need a minimum of seven to nine hours of sleep a night.

A poll for the foundation, released Tuesday, indicates that three-quarters of adults say they frequently have a sleep problem, such as waking during the night or snoring.

Symptoms of a sleep problem include difficulty falling asleep, waking a lot during the night, waking up too early and not being able to get back to sleep, waking up feeling unrefreshed, snoring, unpleasant feelings in the legs or pauses in breathing.

Personally, I have no problems sleeping once I get to sleep but these days I'm not getting a whole lot -- I have a book deadline that's killing me. I don't want to say that lack of sleep is getting to me, but I will say that I'm not real keen to operate any heavy machinery. And when the book is done, I tend to get about 14 hours of sleep straight. Yeah. That will work for me.

Do you feel like you are getting enough sleep? And if you're not, do you feel it's affecting your waking life, and particularly your work?

I don't have problems falling or staying asleep. I have problems getting to bed. I have a hard time putting aside my chores, hobbies, and social life. I go to bed really late and wake up really early to go to work and end up getting only about 4 hours each night. So no, I'm not getting enough sleep. Does it affect my waking life? Sometimes. There are days at work where I'm just a zombie.

When are they going to market instant sleep in pill form, in handy 8-hour doses? I'd be at Walgreen's the next day. - Karen

Definitely not getting enough sleep here, but then again, I am one of those who could easily sleep 24 hours straight lol  I have a lot of issues falling asleep at night, and even if I sleep a full eight hours (hard with 2 little ones) I am still a zombie until I have my coffee.  Some days after consecutive nights of no sleep, it does seem to take a toll on my patience with the children, but more often than not---no.
