Hearing Pink Moon -- Nick Drake
Here's something to think about: At a Chrysler plant, the company has dictated that 80% of the worker parking spaces are for Chrysler cars only, and that if a non-Chrysler car is parked in one of them, it'll be towed (the remaining 20% of spaces are apparently far and gone in the lot). A worker intentionally parked a non-Chrysler car in one as a protest, and it was towed. But now for the rest of the story:
Owner Jim Davis said he towed two cars from the plant Monday without knowing the specifics of the new policy. After learning more, Davis said he decided to stop towing cars from the lot and would not charge owners of vehicles he had already hauled away.
"I thought we were towing them for being parked illegally until I learned the full scoop of it," said Davis. "Now we're not going to do it."
Davis is not alone in refusing to tow cars from the lot.
Don Ellmore, owner of Martin Wrecker Service, also turned down a job at the plant.
"We backed off for customer relations reasons," he said. "It's just not worth it to aggravate somebody."
What do you think? Should Chrysler tow the cars of its workers if they're from a competing brand? And should workers be penalized by having to park far away if they don't have a Chrysler? Not to put too fine a point on it, but sometimes one doesn't entirely have a choice as to which car one drives. I'm curious as to your thoughts on the matter.

Pure Stupidity... Unmitigated arrogance runs into stupidity and lack of caring.

I know that the expense of a vehicle is much more than the cost of clothes, but to put it into perspective, perhaps a ratio even, of what the item costs and what one is paid...to work as a sales clerk in some stores (minimum wage), you must wear clothes carried by that store (which usually are fairly expensive). That is a policy I don't necessarily agree with either, I can see why the owners and managers of the stores might want that to be so, but in reality, few people can toe the line...seems to be yet another "sounds good in theory, doesn't work in practice" situations. debra

Boy, I'd hate to see what the folks at Charmin do to ensure their employees are staying loyal?? Ü
