Hearing White Wedding -- Billy Idol

Man Vs. Bear, the Hong Kong Cinema Version

This is the greatest story ever: Hiker uses martial arts to fight off grizzly bear. A well-placed kick kept the bear from performing some heavy-duty mauling action. Really, don't try this at home (and if you have bears at your home, think about moving).

I suspect that if a grizzly ever charged me, I would use the ancient martial art of screaming and running. My screaming and running technique is unstoppable.

That would be the ancient martial art of Flee Ing.  Something a few of us learned on school playgrounds where, of course, all such knowledge is acquired in an oral (fortunately, not costing teeth :-) tradition.

I'm at a library computer, and therefore unable to transfer links properly.........but if you enter "CMFL" or "lion" into a searcher, you'll get a great story.

It seems the CMFL- Cambodian Midget Fighting League- had an open challenge to any man or beast. The CMFL is a sort of Ultimate Fighting League for Midgets. You'd figure they would have been on Pol Pot's enemies list, but here they are.

Someone called in....challenged the whole CMFL....to fight his Lion. One lion vs the whole CMFL roster. They accepted, and a crowd gathered around a big pit near Phnom Penh.

While I don't want to say that it was a "short" fight, it only lasted 12 minutes. 28 of the 41 people on the CMFL roster were killed, while the remainder of it lost arms, had legs broken, were gutted, etc...

While I haven't got a video of it YET, as I would imagine that even in Cambodia there are places where powerful people simply won't allow themselves to be captured on camera- I hope someone hooks me up soon. I mean, it's ASIA, and Southeastern Asia, to boot....

This incident replaces the Micheal Olowokandi tazering as the funniest sports-related thing that I have never seen.

I'm not LION about this, either,....it's all true.

IRL...never scream and run from a bear....most of their food does stuff like that. I'd offer him a pic-a-nic basket!
