Kickin' It Incredibly Old School

This will take you back -- and for some of you, it'll take you back before you were even born: The operating manual for a Pong game, circa 1977. Just in case you were wondering how you might install one today.

And if reading the manual has given you a hankerin' for some red hot chunky pixel battin' action, here's downable Pong for your PC. And a Java version. Try not to get too excited.

I introduced my kids to Pong about a year ago. Then I bought a anniversary edition CD containing several Atari games from when I was a kid (yes, I am a child of the late seventies/early eighties). They like those games better than some of the fancier games that their friends own (we don't own a game system). They kid me about the graphics, but they like the way they play and the simplicity of it all.

Goes to prove you don't have to spend a katrillion dollars to entertain your kids.

I remember being one of the few families to have a computer in our house when I was in middle school - and having Pong, I was the envy of all my friends! Wonder if I can get my 8 year old to play it?
