Ad Banners

Yes, I see the ad banners.

Yes, I knew AOL was thinking about adding them.

No, I didn't know they were going up today.

Yes, had I known ahead of time they were going up on a specific date I would have told you about it.

Yes, I deleted comments about the ad banners from other entries, because I'm using this entry as a place for you to comment on them. I understand some of you will be upset that I deleted comments at all, but I want them all in one place so that people who are interested in seeing what the reaction has been won't have to hunt around for the commments.

No, I won't be deleting comments in this thread (unless they are egregiously outside AOL's terms of service), because this is the appropriate place for them, so, please say anything you like, but do remember to keep it civil.

Yes, I do want to know what you think.

Re: Updating issues -- yes, I'm aware of those too, since I've been experiencing them as well. I'm on that and will let you know what I know when I know it.

Update: 11:17am -- Over at Magic Smoke, Journals Editor Joe has more on the tech details, with information on other things this update has added (including a spell check).

Well, John, I see whatever input you might have had in this issue has been ignored. Therefore, you have been, much like most of the AOL J-land community, effectively castrated. It's time for me to remove my account. If all 168 other members cancelled their subscriptions, I wonder if AOL would pay attention.

    this is sooo wrong..
maybe it's time for me to go over to OPTONLINE.NET..
THEN get a FREE aol account.....

we pay 24 bucks a month for aol..and now they are taking advantage of us?
I have enough trouble blogging because it seems that..having a MAC computer...alot of the features do NOT WORK for me.

I had to get a different browser just so i could change fonts and post pictures in my blog...

now i have to look at BANNERS?  My blog is NOT a billboard for AOL.

SURELY THEY CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS..THIS IS LOWER THAN LOW......

PERHAPS they can lower our AOL rate...but they must compensate us somehow...otherwise alot of us are going to jump ship...........It's offensive that they would do this..They are overpriced to begin with..but..AOL members in the US are paying dearly...AOL members in OTHER COUNTRIES don't HAVE THE BANNERS in their BLOGS..what is up with THAT??
