A Meditative Exercise in Personal Control

Recent design changes have left many believing the esthetic design of their personal space has been altered inauspiciously. If one's awareness is expanded to include certain complements to particular tools, one may then choose to exercise a certain amount of control over the visibility of various design elements. This is noted for informational purposes only; others are better suited to meditate further on the matter during their journeys to other places.

It must be noted such an implementation does not address the central issue of various design elements having been placed into one's personal space , and others who have not employed a similar solution may continue to be aware of these particular elements. This would only affect one's own awareness. In all things, however, one must begin with one's self.

Let us now meditate.

well, I meditated, and this is how I was enlightened:

well, I suppost your criptic message to download Firefox to block adds from your own eyes to see is a good solution...

    that is - if you're a jellyfish.

but alas, you're still missing the point John.

    John,

It has truly been a wonderful Ride. Thank-you so much for introducing me to so many amazing people (Pam, formally his1desire, in particular) Clearly, this Update was a mistake. You (By The Way..) are our messenger and our only voice. I'm sorry I've been so vile with both you and Joe; it really isn't me. I hope you know that. When people and their personal lives are threatened, disrupted, and in some cases destroyed, they panic, stampede, and scream at the top of their lungs to anyone who will listen. We (J-Landers) have been stomped on, not listened to, and again in some cases, stomped out completely from a community that We All have helped to "build". And, with that being said, this unfortunate update being installed -without being properlly tested- so close to Thanksgiving boggles the mind on how AOL could be so careless, crass, and Thankless about that.

I'm not leaving. But, I know where I'm not wanted.

My journal has been my Saving Grace so many times I can't even tell you. The compassion of J-Land journalers, whom used to be total strangers, helped me to know "Everything will be Okay" Their journal entries made me laugh when I didn't feel like laughing. The fact that people would open themselves up and share their lives with me is Priceless and will never be forgotten.

AOL slapped a "For Sale" sign on all of our lives.

THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE BLINKING ADS!!

Good Luck, God Speed. Peace be with you,

    Barb-
ps: Major Congrats on the book deal, Well Done! : )

    John,

As unhappy as I am with what AOL has pulled here, I'd like to go on record as saying that I don't hold you or Joe responsible for it...and I wish everyone would take a deep breath and think about this situation before they act as though the two of you personally coded the banner ads into our journals.

Thanks for passing our complaints along.  I don't think they'll do any good, but I do appreciate your efforts.

How come all these journalers said they were leaving but they seem to be lingering like a bad odor.  Can't you just zap them off or something ?

    PLEEEEEZE !
