Hearing Frozen -- Madonna
Off the AOL front screen: A timely discussion of credit and debt -- timely because in a very short time, all of America will engage in the annual orgy of consumerism known as the "holiday season," thereby often saddling themselves with even more debt than they already had (and the average American has quite a bit).
I tend to be credit phobic myself: writing a book on personal finance will do that to you. Most of my charging action take place on my Amex, which has to be paid off at the end of the month (I put things on there because Amex sends me a yearly statement, which is very useful for handing over to the accountant, and because I get all those groovy points that I can redeem for pointless stuff). Even so, we recently got ourselves a new credit card, and I've been spending the last couple of days looks at it like it's a venomous lizard holding a lollipop. So appealing yet somewhat dangerous.
Anyway, do check out the package and remember to get a good grip on what you owe (and what you can pay) before you start making up those gift lists. It'll make your January and February a little more pleasant.

Ha ha ha ha... I'm sure his current lovey dove, naive sweetheart will appreciate it. HA HA HA.. I suspect he uses her cards NOW. Wait, nope, he must pay with cash--he gets too much of it "under the table" as it is. HA HA HA... Julie :) (no, I'm not bitter!)

Hey Julie, I saw your EX husband today....he was up at the Paramus Mall charging up a storm and he said he was buying you a present. I think it was an at-home vasectomy kit cuz he finally realized what a crap dad he is!

Credit cards are good to have in case of emergenices and unexpected stuff, but CASH is always better. I learned my lesson, and I consider credit cards as being E V I L now. I love my debit card!! Amex is better because it gets you to pay the balance off each month, but not too good if someone like an ex-hubby (for example) decides to buy something, and then runs off and leaves the state....please don't ask...LONG story... My NOW Hubby has a Christmas fun, and he keeps me on track. Happy spending!! Julie :)

And, since people are going into some debt, maybe they could think of sponsoring someone for Christmas. At my workplace, we can sponsor a child and/or senior citizen to whom we give gifts anonymously based on the info we get on them. Just a thought, I like doing a child every year.
Blessings (and get the old man's war series out.... I'm still waiting to see it on Amazon!!! Credit card in hand!!!),
