Hearing Flying North -- Thomas Dolby

The Link Collector

To catch you all up: Nothing new yet from AOL vis-a-vis the banner ads. This is not terribly surprising as it's monday morning after a long Thanksgiving weekend, but I don't want y'all to think it's slipped my mind. I'll pass along anything news from the overlords that I get on the matter.

Meanwhile, I'm aware some of you have additional thoughts and links on the subject you'd like to share, so please leave links and comments here if you'd like.

    Calacanis; my comment.

    7. I am another bloglines refugee in the AOL "Banner Ad" diaspora. Like many others, I have left a final protest post on my AOL journal and am therefore considered by AOL as a happy, contented customer. The entry is a repost of my poem "Metamorphosis", an homage to the AOL J-Land community written on the occasion of our first Anniversary.

As a psychologist, I can`t help but comment on the sadness felt by so many of AOL`s paying bloggers, whether or not they remain subscribers. So sad.

It is just amazing all the changes that AOL has made. I tried to send a egreeting to someone and some of the cards that I use I have to now pay for. AOL is getting desperate and I am so sick of it. I have started looking for other services already. I hate that it has come to this because I love JLand and I am afraid I might lose touch with some of the ppl. I have met.

I'm still fighting the banners.  I'm glad that we're getting some press.  The advertisers themselves don't want anti-ads for their businesses on blogs and AOL is getting a whole lot of bad press in the implementation of the ads and how they handled it.  Good.
    Thanks, John.

John, you are our connection to "THEM"(the AOL executives that made this stupid decision about putting the ads on our already 'paid for' service.)
I want to know what they are planning on doing, about this ads issue.
We have waited long enough!  We need answers.  I want to know whether I should delete my Journal & all my AOL websites.
