Hearing Nothing at the moment
Sometime in the middle of the night the furnace stopped working. Either the problem is the furnace itself, or that we're out of propane. Either way, damn, it's cold around here.
This happened once before to us a couple of years ago on what turned out to be one of the coldest nights of the year (we're talking near zero) and that was pretty bad; this time around it's only about 18 degrees outside and we have a couple of space heaters to keep our bedroom and my office warm, so it's not a crisis. Even so, we'll be getting this addressed today. Being cold is one thing. Being cold for more than one night in a row is another.
Update: It's the propane. Also, the water pipes are fine.

Well when the heat goes out let the water dribble a bit, then the pipes do not freeze. At least that's what my boss who was a plumber always told me. This is one time that I am glad that I am in Florida...it's cold here at 68 degrees. Sorry had to add that....Sandi http://journals.aol.com/sdosc

Fingers crossed it's the propane.

The problem is not YOU being cold. The problem is your WATER PIPES being cold. You'll probably survive; they won't. OH, the joys of home ownership.

You going to fix it yourself?
