Hearing Queer -- Garbage

From the "Things I Already Knew" File

Scientists have figured out why dancers are, like, so hot:

Many people are attracted to hot dancers, and a new study suggests part of the reason is because their bodies are more symmetrical than those of the less coordinated. The researchers found that men judged to be better dancers tended to have a higher degree of body symmetry, a factor that has been linked to overall attractiveness and health in other research.

The new study involved 183 Jamaican teenagers, ranging between 14 and 19 years old, who danced while their movements were recorded using motion-capture cameras similar to those used in video games and movies to give computer-generated characters fluid movements.

Women watching the recordings preferred the dances of men who were more symmetrical, while men were more impressed by the dances of more symmetric females.

As I believe I've noted here before, I met my wife because she saw me dancing and decided she just had to have me. I must have been particularly symmetrical that night. Yes, all my friends laughed when I took those dance classes. But look at me now! Ha! HA, I say!

And now you know why I keep up the mad dance skillz with the Dance Dance Revolution. Gotta keep up the symmetry, you know.

You know I think (for shame) this depends on Culture & Asymmetrical does not mean how we define hot. Let me explain. What each culture finds as hot may be different but Asymmetrical still. In one culture the women go out dancing in the streets but the do some heavy duty padding...no not like some women in the top front area...they but tons of pillows in the rear-end area! I'm like how drunk are those guys that they don't figure it out eventually! HA! Some cultures like very heavy women but they are still asymmetrical in their heaviest...understand?

Oh for example, now I know this is guys but you brought up you dancing & it reminded me...that guy in the movie HITCH that Hitch is trying to help. He is not what our society would say is HOT....but you know what he is soooo adorable & caring & funny & tries so hard & attentive....oh boy I better stop! ;-) One might say he is asymmetrical though I suppose.
