Seeing What You Can't Usually See

For those folks who want to see how sharp their eyesight really is -- or have a small telescope or pair of binoculars you want to use -- you'll be interested in knowing that you should be able to see the usually hard-to-see planet Uranus early next week, as it nestles up to planet Venus in the sky. NASA has all the details. The only drawback is that it involves getting up before sunrise. But come on. It'll be worth it.

And I thought nothing past Saturn was visible without a telescope. Cool. Considering what a bust my Mars-watching was last year, though (me with lousy eyesight and all, can't even see through a telescope well), I'll have to leave the actual viewing to you. - K.
