Hearing High -- The Cure
They asked Nobel prize winners and other top scientists: What questions about science should people absolutely know the answers to? The questions are here. The answers are also there, a little further down in the article, but see how many answers you can get on your own first.
I got 10 for 10 (plus the extra credit), but then again, I written an astronomy book and numerous science articles over time, so I'm kind of a ringer. How did you do?

The only question I missed was the one asking how old the oldest fosssils are.

I'm about 80 but that's when extra credit is added in

I gave myself 8-1/2 out of ten plus I got the extra credit. I couldn't remember how much of the earth was covered with water, so I guessed 80%. I knew it was "a lot." I got the electrical, but missed the chemical (duh, the obvious one) signals in the brain.
It was interesting that many of those questions were asked specifically in support of the theory of evolution, even the non-obvious ones, like why bacteria and viruses are difficult to treat.
