Hearing Nothing at the moment
One of the problems I have at hotels is that I have a hard time sleeping in no matter how late I've been up the night before, so despite being up until about 2:30 last night, I was up bright and early at 7:30. In a word: Gaaaah. Naturally, I suspect I'll be taking a nap at some point during the day.
The big event of yesterday: I lost my cell phone. The problem is that I think I lost my cell phone somewhere in my hotel room; I remember putting it down somewhere in the room, and the next thing I know it disappeared, like a sock in a dryer. I'd have someone call the phone so we could listen for it, but I can't remember the phone number, because I never call myself on it, you see. I was mightly aggravated, but I figure it'll show up at some point or another. Call me an optimist.
Madison continues to be a lovely town, and aside from cell phone issues I'm having a lovely time. One small problem is that I was using the cell phone as a modem, and now without it, I'm a little stranded computerwise (right now I'm on a community computer, and I'll have to abandon it in a few minutes to others). The lack of on-demand internet access is actually making me more twitchy than missing my cell phone. I am a creature of the Internet.

John I bet your wife knows your cell phone number! Give her a call.

Are you sure Flat Scalzi didn't jump into your suitcase?! Sounds like it would be something that little devil would do----hide your cell phone. I hope you find it soon! Julie

I bet one of the maids has the phone, and John gets a bill next month for like $1200 woirth of calls to Guatemala.

Well, losing the cell phone certainly put a damper on it... I'm hoping that you have found it by now... when I think of all the personal information I have on my cell phone (like all those alphabetized phone numbers with email addresses and such, and I think of the time it would take to replace all that... ugh... I hope you find it. You do get good mileage from your cell phone. Then there were the audio entries we have come to enjoy. Have a good week, John. Bea
