Hearing Scherzo No.1 in B Minor -- Mily Balakirev
A look through some photos I took this weekend precipitated this Photo Shoot:
Your Monday Photo Shoot: Find a picture in your files that is technically bad, but is still interesting to look at. By "technically bad," I mean things like people are partly out of frame, your subject is out of focus, everyone has red eye, people's heads are cut off, there are in appropriate blurs, so on an so forth. But even so, it's still an interesting picture to look at.
Remember: It's called the Monday Photo Shoot, but you can still post pictures for it through about noon on Thursday. That's a lot of time to find flawed photos.
Here's the picture that inspired this Photo Shoot:

I think I took this picture accidentally as I was setting down the camera at Athena's baseball game on Friday. As you can see it's off-kilter, the sun is a flashing out glare, and I need a shave. Be that as it may, it's unintentionally a family portrait: you can see Athena in the corner there. It also captures Krissy and I rather unintentionally making what I like to call pretentious album cover poses; we look like we're about to sing about the dawning of the Age of Aquarius or something. So technically there's a lot going wrong here -- and at the same time I think it's an interesting shot of the whole family, certainly one I wouldn't have thought of getting intentionally.
Go through your pictures and find a flawed gem of a photo. Post it on your blog or journal and them come back here to leave a link. Let's see those photos that didn't work out -- but are worth looking at.
(Since there a likelihood of kids involved in these pictures, a reminder of AOL's standard disclaimer: Please be careful about posting pics of your kids, especially kids under 13. You shouldn't post personally identifying information (such as the name of their school), which could easily be used by people you don't know on the Internet to contact them. Also, it's against official policy to post photos of other people's under-13 kids (this includes relatives) without parental permission.)

I love this idea! I have a couple three photo albums in my pictures devoted entirely to weird pictures. I call them "artistic". You inspired me to make that the main subject or at least starting off point of my blog. Here's my link:
