Hearing Fell on Black Days -- Soundgarden
Sorry, I'll never do that again. Now: Look! The Andromeda Galaxy as you've never seen it before!

You're seeing it here in infrared, and it's looking pretty shiny. Also, it's looking pretty large: astronomers are estimating that there are one trillion stars in the galaxy, which is up a bit from when I was a kid and they suspected there were "only" a couple hundred billion stars in it. You can get the full scoop on the picture here.
* When things go "boom" on the moon: NASA captures the impact of a meteorite on the moon. You can see it happen. Sure, it looks small in the movie. It'd be pretty big if you were there, however.
* Just how loud would you have to be on Mars for someone to hear you through that planet's thin, thin atmosphere? Pretty darn loud.
* Not astronomy, but still cool: Fuel cells that can power a city. Are they on their way? It would be nice.

That's so pretty! Looks like Spin Art - which I suppose it is, on a cosmic level. Is that another galaxy "beneath" it? The white thing in the middle?

I offered to sunbathe nude for a series of Hubble telescope shots, but I got pregnant before they could get the check to me.
