Hearing Way Down Now -- World Party
Athena and I were wandering about the yard the other morning when we came upon this: a web laid to catch the various ants, gnats and small creatures that populate the yard. You can just barely see the owner on the edge of the hole in the center. Normally we'd never see this web at all; it's only the dew in the Web that let us see it this time.
Since this particular web is right on the edge of our garden, this means the web is in a very precarious position; we actually work in our garden, after all, and that means a lot of foot traffic and what have you. That web has probably accidentally gotten creamed by my father-in-law already (he was out there working on the garden just yesterday) More proof that life down there near the bottom of the food chain isn't all sweet cakes and earl gray tea. But it's pretty while it lasts.

Hi Mr. Scalzi !!!!!!!!! This is a great photo of the web. I am a little scared of spiders and walking into their webs. I like the photo of this one in your yard. Being that I have a new puppy I'm sure he would probably have messed your web up in no time. Tell Athena hello for us here at J-Land. Once again take care and thanks for posting this Mr. Scalzi. Byyyyyyyyye for now.

Great photo! Amazing that all that coming out of a spider butt.
And if you wreck it, well at least it gives him something to do tomorrow!
