Hearing One Day -- U2
For this week's Weekend Assignment, I asked: What do you share with dad -- or what do you as a dad share with your own child? Here are some of the responses. Click through to find out who said it, and to get the whole story.
"Knobby knees, his brown eyes and a bit of artistic talent."
"One thing I got from my father, was to look like him!"
"My grandfather... passed along to me his hatred of anything and everything connected to the Evil Empire." (the evil empire in question being the New York Yankees)
"I obtained my facility with words, such as it is, from my father."
"Dad and I have several traits in common, but the main two would have to be our tempers and our stubborness."
"A trait that I shared with my father is his relaxed, easy, and go with the flow attitude."
"I comb garage sales and clearance shelves looking for gold in bargain bins."
"We both have a wicked sense of humor."
"Did I get all that from Dad, this continual whirl of activity? Probably."
"Perhaps you can say that I share his optimism and joy."
"The ability to have lengthy conversations with perfect strangers anytime...anywhere."
"I also love to take long walks."
Dads gave a lot to us -- it's good to take a day to remember it all. Thanks for all of you who remembered your dads for this Weekend Assignment. It was fun to read your memories.

Unfortunately, I didn't have time to get this one done this weekend.
But, among a great many things, I get a dislike of Scotch whiskey from my father. You're welcome to read about it here:
