Hearing Mandlebrot Set -- Jonathan Coulton
Look! It's the lawn care man, in his funky, bug-looking little lawn care car, spritzing my lawn with various things to keep it from turning overnight into a weed farm, and otherwise fertilizing the thing. One of the cool things is that our lawn is sufficiently large and tree free that we get a discount because they can use the same buggy they use for corporate accounts (i.e., it delivers the fertilizer/chemical stew faster than if the poor guy had to use something smaller). Naturally, this makes me happy.
This is the sort of job that, were I five years old, I would totally want to have. Look! You get to drive on the lawn! In a bug-looking car! And people pay you for it! When you're five years old, where is the downside? Heck, at 37, it doesn't look all that bad, either.
