Hearing Nothing at the moment
From cellphones to DVDs, is there any cool technology science fiction writers didn't think up first?
Not really.
The writer of the piece, David Gerrold (himself an SF writer of some note), also places bets on when things that SF predicted but which are not yet here will eventually show up. Place your bets now!

I'd also imagine that sci-i has a pretty high failure rate when it comes to calling things. Where are the 400 foot lizards, or the Orgasmatron?

Very interesting article. NOw if we could get life to imitate Comics we could have a super hero to stop all the chaos in this our world. At the rate we are going Mankind should not be reaching for the stars...we aren't doing so well with the planet we already have unfortunately. Sandi

A million bucks for a flying car is probably the most depressing thing I've heard in a long time. Thanks for shattering my dreams, Mr. Scalzi. Thankyouverymuch!
Now, I might as well just go kick a puppy or something. I'll never get my damn flying car.
