Hearing Nothing at the moment
Got a hankering to see grizzlies in their natural habitat but don't want to run the risk of one of them ripping off your head? The solution, from National Geographic: A live grizzlycam, porting bears to you from scenic McNeil River Falls, Alaska. Very cool. You'll need Real Player to see it (which I think you'll have if you have AOL). In addition to bears, there's also tons of gulls. So if you like gulls and bears, really, I don't know that it can get much better for you.
Remember, however: Live cam. So if you're watching too late in the day, say, after the sun goes down, there might not be much to see. On the other hand, this is Alaska. The days are pretty long there this time of year.

Thanks John, I would rather watch grizzlies on a cam than up close and personal. Perhaps National Geographic will give you an award or hire you for a job just for posting this online. I think this is great that you posted this. Do you like bears ? Take care Mr. Scalzi.

I was camping out in the Blue Ridge Parkway area late last summer and it was Bear City! Here a bear, there a bear..kind of unnerving really because I don't think they're known for their predictability. We were driving down the Parkway (booze run, I'm sure) and there were a bunch of cars pulled over to the side to ogle a mama bear and a couple of cubs. I was getting a little annoyed with the slowdowon of traffic and then to my horror (delight?) here comes this Japanese tourist with a camera running toward the mother bear to capture the photo op! This can never end well. I instructed my husband to gun it and get out of there 'cause I just couldn't watch.

I love bears. I caught this pet bear in Russia last year. http://digitalartphotographyf
