Hearing Dimension -- Wolfmother

Wolfmother is the band your uncle whose musical taste never progressed past Houses of the Holy has been waiting for, lo these last 30 years. Imagine War Pigs-era Black Sabbath fronted by Robert Plant (or, at least, The Darkness without any hint of camp), and you're square in the ball park. Don't believe it? Check out this AOL Sessions version of the track "Dimension" and tell me that it's not like punk, disco and the entire decade of the 80s were wiped from history. I mean, the singer's white boy 'fro is enough in itself to make you suspect you've slipped into a mystical portal back to 1974. You will be enthralled or terrified. There's no inbetween.

Umm.. From what I understand, Baby Scalzi was pretty hard on diapers. Apparently, they had a tendency of bursting into flames.

Is the "Wolfson" the guy in the middle? I've never heard of them..(but that doesn't mean anything really..) Julie

These guys ROCK. And frankly John I think most of the bands you seem to like just plain suck. When you said they sounded like something out of 1974 I was a bit skeptical, mainly because you were probably in diapers back then. But these guys are truly a throwback to the old days--in an entirely good way. --AJ
